Girls Rock! Rhode Island (GRR!) is a new organization in town that wants to bring the rock, and most specifically bring the rock to two groups who are generally not encouraged to rock-- girls and women. If you are at all familiar with the work of groups like Portland's Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls, GRR! will operate in a similar fashion, with girls and women learning instruments, forming a band, and writing and performing an original song live on stage at a local music venue, all in less than one week! We are currently in the process of planning a Girls Rock Camp for girls 11-18 in summer 2010, and ever so soon, a Ladies Rock Camp for adult women THIS! summer 2009.
